Specsavers Mission Christmas
Specsavers in Antrim has signed up with Downtown Radio and Cool FM’s Mission Christmas appeal on behalf of charity, Cash for Kids NI. The store in Castle Mall is a collection point for the public who would like to donate gifts which will be distributed to disadvantaged local children.
Store manager Ita Armour, says, “Mission Christmas is a fantastic project which makes a real difference to children who face waking up with no presents on Christmas morning. We would encourage all our customers and local shoppers to buy just one extra gift when they’re doing their shopping and drop it off in our store as soon as possible.”
Davin Quinn, store director added, “We have had such successful campaigns collecting for Mission Christmas in 2016 and 2017, that we couldn’t wait to take part this year. It’s a fabulous cause and being a father myself I want every child to enjoy a wonderful Christmas morning with presents.”
Cash for Kids is a registered children’s charity whose mission is to raise money to help the thousands of disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland who right now are relying on their support. For Mission Christmas the charity needs new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0-17 years. Everything that is collected will be distributed to children in the local area.
Eryn Duff, Charity Manager, says, “In 2017 Mission Christmas helped over 12,678 children across Northern Ireland and we’re thrilled to have Specsavers back on board this year as a drop off point.
‘Nearly one in four children right here in Northern Ireland are living in poverty, and for many of these children Christmas is just a dream. By dropping off an extra gift or making a donation to Mission Christmas, you’ll be helping us make Christmas a reality!”
